Meeting 8: Roundtable on Health Literacy-Workshop on Integrating Health Literacy in Prevention Programs

The Roundtable on Health Literacy participated in the workshop and explored the role of health literacy in primary and secondary prevention, the intersection of health literacy and public health prevention programs, and how insurance companies and industry contribute to overall health literacy.

The Workshop on Measures of Health Literacy focused on (1) reviewing existing approaches for measuring health literacy, (2) reviewing health system level approaches to assessing health literacy, and (3) providing a vision for what could be done in population-based measurement of health literacy.
Meeting 6: Roundtable on Health Literacy - eHealth and Health Literacy

The meeting included presentations that address a broad overview of the status of communication technology, particularly electronic health records systems; an examination of challenges of communication technology use for populations with low health literacy; and exploration of strategies for increasing the benefit of these technologies to underserved populations.
